What is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination sets your brows into a uniform shape for several weeks at a time, giving you “I woke up like this” brows, with minimal effort on your part! Eyebrow lamination originated in Russia in 2019 and has rapidly spread throughout Europe.

Brow lamination is essentially a perm for your eyebrows. By using the right products, your brow artist can restructure your brows in a way that fixes the hair vertically, keeping them in their desired shape. It gives the impression of fuller, thicker and fluffier brows with results that can last up to six weeks.

Our brow artists comb the hair upward, sideways or using the length of the brow hair to increase the width of the eyebrows. The technique will depend on your natural brows and your preferred finished result. By combing the brow hair in the direction you want, it is possible to cover gaps in your brows, making them appear fuller, and achieving the fluffy brow look that can be seen all over social media right now.

ARE ALL BROWS SUITABLE FOR LAMINATION?

Brow Lamination is a safe, temporary and affordable treatment and is suitable and safe for most people, as long as they have natural brow hair. If your brow concern is thinning, over-plucking, unevenness, gaps or unruliness, brow lamination is extremely effective at fixing these issues.

For the best results, you should ideally have hair throughout your entire brow area – brow lamination will fill out the brows but cannot cover up large gaps or patches of missing hair. While treatments such as Microblading offer a semi-permanent solution to thinner or sparse brow types, Brow Lamination is a great, pain-free alternative for creating the illusion of full, perfectly styled brows. It will enable you to cover small gaps in your brows and gives the illusion of full, feathered brows – all done in under an hour!

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A BROW LAMINATION TREATMENT?

At least 24 hours prior to a brow lamination treatment, you must have a consultation and patch test (similar to any treatment involving chemicals or dyes). The style and shape of your eyebrow will also be discussed beforehand to ensure you get the result that you want.

A cream solution is applied to your brows to lift and straighten the hair structure. A styling lotion is applied first to separate the bonds between the keratin clusters. This makes it easier to mould the hairs into a new shape. After this process is completed the lamination fixing lotion is applied; this is the most important step of the procedure as it rebuilds the bonds in the hairs and locks them into their new shape for up to six weeks!

Traditional brow services, such as waxing, threading and tinting can be added to the service afterwards, further perfecting the appearance of your brows. The treatment is then finished with a moisturising oil to soothe the skin and nourish the brows.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO AFTER A BROW LAMINATION TREATMENT?

For the first 24 hours, there are a few things that you must not do after you have had your eyebrows laminated.

  • Wet your eyebrows – The moisture will prevent the products from working correctly and will not allow the hairs to set in the correct position. This could mean that you lose the shape of the eyebrows.
  • Rub your eyebrows – This is because there are many oils on your fingers that can clog the open pores near your eyebrows.
  • Apply any cream or oils around the eyebrow area.
  • Apply heavy makeup near your eyebrows(this means no concealer or foundation).
  • Take a sauna, steamy shower or sweat excessively.

A brow lamination treatment also works well together with many of our other services! You could absolutely pair your eyelash extension and lash lifts with brow lamination, so why not book in for a combo treatment and really treat yourself?
